Rezidor, one of the fastest growing hotel companies in the world, is expanding its portfolio in Paris, one of the most popular destinations in the world for MICE events.
Rezidor has recently announced four new Radisson properties in the French capital: the Radisson SAS Ambassador Hotel, Paris Opera, which opened in December 2008; the Radisson Le Dokhan’s Hotel, Paris Trocadéro, which opened at the beginning of 2009; the Radisson Blu Hotel, Paris Eiffel, which is due to open in the spring of 2009; and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Paris La Défense, which is set to open in 2011.
‘We now have 1,600 rooms in operation and under development in the highly competitive market of Paris and more than 4,000 rooms in France, which is a new milestone in our business development,’ says Kurt Ritter, President and CEO of Rezidor.
Radisson Ambassador, Opéra The 296-room Radisson Ambassador Hotel, Paris Opéra, is located on Boulevard Haussmann in the centre of the Opera Quarter, a short walk from the famous Opéra Garnier. The hotel is close to the business district featuring headquarters of financial giants such as BNP Paribas, Crédit Lyonnais, Generali, American Express and the Paris Stock Exchange.
This spectacular Art Deco hotel has retained the spirit of the 1920s, with its high glass ceilings, gold embossed columns and dark wood tones. Guests can enjoy a drink in the Lindbergh bar, named after the famous aviator who celebrated his historic solo flight across the Atlantic here in 1927. But the hotel has ultra-modern amenities and, with its seven well-equipped conference rooms, is an ideal location for meetings and events. The hotel is set to undergo an extensive refurbishment in the coming year.
Radisson Le Dokhan’s The Radisson Le Dokhan’s Hotel, Paris Trocadéro, is a boutique hotel with 41 rooms and four suites and is within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe, the Tour Eiffel and the Palais des Congrès.
Once a private residence, the hotel harks back to the elegant days of the eighteenth century with its well preserved Haussmann façade and its neo-classical furnishings. The hotel’s lounge areas are hung with original artworks and no guest should miss the unique elevator which has been created out of a vintage Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk.
Paris Eiffel The brand new Radisson SAS hotel, Paris Eiffel, is located in the Trocadéro quarter, facing the Eiffel Tower. The well known designer François Champsaur has successfully united the hotel’s nineteenth-century, Haussmann architecture with his contemporary style.
Most of the hotel’s 38 rooms and 10 suites have stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel can accommodate meetings for up to 12 people in its meeting room with natural daylight and gatherings of up to 30 people in its bar overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
Paris La Défense Rezidor’s pièce de resistance, however, is the Radisson Hotel Paris La Défense, which is being built in the La Défense business district, where 1,500 corporate headquarters and more than 3,600 companies such as Axa, IBM and Société Générale are located.
The new hotel will be situated close to the subway station Esplanade de La Défense and at the intersection between two main highways, A14 and A86, which provide easy access to the city’s ring road and the international Charles de Gaulle airport. And for those who want to explore Paris, the hotel is a five-minute drive from the Champs-Elysées.
The hotel will offer 343 rooms and suites over 20 floors. Serving the international business clientele, the hotel will host approximately 1,000 square metres of conference and banqueting space.
Rezidor first arrived in Paris in 1997 with a hotel at Charles De Gaulle Airport. Today, the group’s portfolio in France features 24 properties, including a resort at Disneyland and two hotels serving Charles De Gaulle Airport. The group, which is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, has 352 hotels in operation and under development with 74,555 rooms in 53 countries.
In addition to Radisson SAS Hotels and Resorts, Rezidor operates the Regent Hotels and Resorts, Park Inn and Country Inns and Suites brands in Europe, Middle East and Africa. |
